I’m Lauren! In this kitchen, we serve up large portions of kindness in the form of delicious, plant-based recipes.
Whenever someone finds out I’m vegan, they inevitably ask, “What do you eat?!” Answering that question is the inspiration for this site. I have lived in New York, London, briefly Asia and now San Francisco–all homes to the world’s best plant-based fare. Making my way through every restaurant, market, bakery and street stall has taught me the versatility of plants. Plants can be rich, savory, spicy, smoky, ‘cheesy’, or umami. They can also be fresh, sweet, bright, tart, creamy and ‘buttery’. There is nothing that plants (and a little creativity) can’t do. Rather than limiting my diet, eating this way has opened up a world of possibilities and deepened my love of food.
What keeps me inspired, however, is not merely the flavors. Plant-based eating contributes positively to one’s health, animal welfare, and the environment. The path forward is paved with plants. I hope these recipes leave you feeling inspired…and full!
